Taking place the first Saturday after Memorial Day weekend, the
Ivy Cup Charity Polo Match is held at Greenwich Polo Club amidst
the splendor of some of the most beautiful scenery on the East Coast.
The 2007 Ivy Cup will be a playoff between alumni teams from
For New Yorkers, the day can begin at Grand Central Station with
the Polo Express to Greenwich. After a brief shuttle ride through
the countryside, guests will arrive at a reception on the Polo Grounds
at Conyers Farm. The afternoon includes a champagne reception, buffet
luncheon, alumni polo match, silent auction and musical entertainment.
For VIP ticket holders, the festivities continue with a post match
reception in Greenwich and a post party later that evening in Manhattan.
Schedule:
Polo Express to Greenwich [2pm]. A private train departs Grand Central Station at 2pm. Beverages
will be served onboard the Polo Express. Buses will greet guests
at Greenwich station for a short ride to the Polo Grounds at Conyers
Farm.
Champagne Reception [3pm]. Held on a grassy knoll overlooking the field, guests will be able to enjoy beverages of their choice while watching the polo ponies warm-up.
Ivy Cup Polo Matches [3:45pm]. Princeton, Cornell, Harvard and Yale alumni teams will compete
in a 2 chukker semi-final match and 2 chukker consolation match
and championship.
Buffet Luncheon [4pm]. An elegant buffet luncheon provided by restaurant caterer Best
In Gourmet is open throughout the Polo Matches.
Awards Ceremony [6pm]. The Ivy Cup is awarded to the winning team. Photos from past years >>
Silent Auction Closing [6:45pm]. Closing of this all-day event offering guests the opportunity
to bid on an array of the finest luxury items.
President's VIP Reception [7:00pm to 9:00pm]. Organizers, co-hosts, and VIP guests are welcome at the President’s
VIP Reception held in Greenwich. At its closing, buses will take
guests from the reception to the Greenwich Train Station where
the Polo Express awaits to return its guests to New York City.
New York VIP Party [10:00pm]. The festivities continue for VIP ticket holders at one of New York's
hottest nighttime locations (downtown Manhattan)
